Safety Training and Certification Courses
The Duluth YMCA is now offering certification courses in the following areas:
• CPR/AED
• First Aid
• Lifeguarding
• Babysitter's Training
• Oxygen
• F.A.C.T. (First Aid for Children Today)
• B.A.T. (Basic Aid Training for Youth)
• Waterfront Lifeguard Training
• Basic Water Rescue
If your group or business would like to organize a training, please contact the Aquatics Director at 722-4745 x131 or email emarshall@duluthymca.org. Staff are also available to do on-site presentations on water safety and other related topics.

$20/certification (register for each component seperatly)

Certification Challenge
Do you KNOW your rescue skills so well that you could show us without any hesitation? If so, you might be eligible to "challenge". If you need to recertify in rescue courses such as CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding, Oxygen, AED, or CPR for the Professional Rescuer/Health Care Provider pre-register for a challenge day or contact Emily Marshall at emarshall@duluthymca.org. You must come prepared. If you fail the challenge, you will need to re-take the entire class without refund.

Babysitter's Training
This class is for ages 11-14 that are interested in becoming a babysitter. Please meet in the lobby of the Y and bring a lunch.

F.A.C.T. First Aid for Children Today
This class is for youth ages 11-14 to learn first aid skills and how to respond to emergencies. Please meet in the Y of the lobby and bring a bagged lunch.

Intro to CPR
Youth will learn CPR skills in this class but will not be officially certified in CPR/AED. Please meet in the lobby of the Y and bring a lunch.

B.A.T. - Basic Aid Training
This is a course designed for elementary students to recognize and respond to emergency situations such as chocking, broken limbs, and other basic first aid.

Lifeguarding Classes
Do you have what it takes to protect and save the lives of others? If so, we want YOU to become a Red Cross certified life guard! The Y will be offering a course in May. Dates and times are listed below. You must be in attendance to all sessions

Waterfront Lifeguard Bridge
We will hold a waterfront lifeguard BRIDGE in May. More information is coming soon! The waterfront bridge is an additional certification and participants MUST already be certified lifeguards. This course will follow the May lifeguard course, so feel free to sign up for both! The Y provides lifeguards a Park Point from the first weekend in June through Labor Day. Anyone interested in applying must be 18 or older and hold a current lifeguard and waterfront lifeguarding certificate. (The waterfront certificate never expires as long as your lifeguarding, CPR/AED is kept current.)
