Recognizing Gifts to the Endowment
Formed in 1976, the Heritage Foundation honors all those who in the past or present have made a gift to the Duluth Area Family YMCA Endowment Fund. It also recognizes those who have informed us that the Duluth YMCA is a beneficiary in their will or trust, or those who have made a planned gift to the Duluth YMCA.
The purpose of Endowment Funds is to ensure the YMCA's ability to carry out its purpose and to fulfill its mission. With a sound financial base, the YMCA can continue to provide quality programs and services to the people of Duluth, especially during economically stressful periods. In addition, Endowment earning can provide the funds needed to start new program or to meet new individual and community needs. Endowment funds can make the difference for the YMCA as it seeks to grow and expand its services to the people of the community it serves.
Given the opportunity, most of us would like to leave a legacy that gives meaning to what we valued over our lifetime. Imagine the satisfaction of knowing that because of your generosity and planning, children and families of Duluth's future will be able to take part in YMCA programs and services meaningful to them.
Gifts can be outright, through your will, charitable annuities, life insurance and other memorial type of gifts. The YMCA Board of Trustees protect the principle of the fund and interest earnings help the YMCA live its inclusive mission.
