Student Engagement and Academic Mentors

Volunteers Needed:

What: Supporting school age youth through student engagement in program activities and also to serve as academic mentors

Where: YMCA School’s Out program at Lakewood Elementary School and Kid Connection Plus Program at Lester Park Elementary School

When: We have volunteer opportunities Monday-Friday 6:30-8:30am and/or 2:30-6:00pm

Why: Because supportive relationships with non-parent adults can powerfully influence the course and quality of a child’s life.  Cuts in school budgets have resulted in even fewer adults per child and we need adults in the community to “Step Up for Students.”
