YMCAs have played a significant role in the history of sports in America including the invention of basketball, volleyball and racquetball! At the Duluth YMCA we offer year round fitness opportunities, sports programs, and leagues including basketball, volleyball, softball, lacrosse, gymnastics, dance, racquetball, handball, pickleball, ultimate Frisbee, climbing, and more.

Adult Sports
Adult leagues (16+) are geared towards connecting our community members together through sport.  All adult sports programs are centered around the four YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.  Fall 2017 leagues are currently in full swing- Winter leagues start end of November/early December!
Youth Sports
Whether your child is interested in lacrosse, taekwondo, fencing, Miracle League baseball, strength and conditioning, or gymnastics, the Duluth Y has something for kids of all ages! Register online or through the front desk at any of our locations.
Racquetball and Handball
The Downtown Y facility features two racquetball/handball courts. Courts can be reserved up to two days in advance by calling or stopping by our Member Service Desk at 218-722-4745 ext. 100. Rackets and balls are available to borrow from the Member Service Desk. Balls, gloves, and eye wear are also available for purchase.
Youth, adult, and combo classes are being offered on state of the art climbing and bouldering walls at the Downtown Y. Climbers are introduced to the sport of climbing and are taught proper climbing technique and basic commands by certified instructors. Opportunities to earn belaying certification are available.
Classes will teach blocking, kicking, and punching techniques emphasizing the traditional philosophy and discipline of Tae-kwon-do. Tae-kwon-do is a great way to spend time with your family, as all classes are family oriented! Individuals are also welcome.
Looking to try something new? Fencing is a sport which takes a great deal of skill, discipline, and determination to outcompete your opponent using both brain and brawn. Our experienced instructors, Kris and Derek, are excited to help others learn the footwork, foil handling, and rewards this Olympic sport has to offer.
