Youth Program Development
Position Summary: This intern would plan and facilitate hands-on, engaging activities during our program hours. Hands-on activities can include but are not limited to: cooking clubs, sports clubs, STEM, service learning, etc. To view the full job description, click here.
About the Out of School Time Programs: We will be hiring a couple of interns to work in the following programs:
The Little Y Drop-In Program: The Little Y is a drop-in after school program that serves kids in grades K-12 who live in or near Harbor Highlands, a low-income housing community. The program is located in the Harbor Highlands Community Center and runs Monday-Friday from 2:30-6:00pm
Gary Rec Center: The Gary Rec Center is located in Gary New Duluth. This program serves kids in grades K-8 who live in or near Gary New Duluth and runs Monday-Friday from 2:15-5:30pm.
KEY Zone & Eagle’s Nest: KEY Zone (working with youth in grades K-5 in Duluth Public Schools) and Eagle’s Nest (working with youth in grades K-6 in the Edison Charter Schools).
Marketing & Communication Internships

Marketing and Communication Specialists
Position Summary: Supports organizational marketing strategy and brand identity for Y membership and programs. Establishes audience and goals, and creates unique and targeted marketing plans to reach those goals. We will be hiring a team of interns to work in these positions. Member Experience Specialist
Position Summary: Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Part of this internship will be spent assisting the Y in the area of community outreach to our Active Older Adult population and other members, and will also assist the Y in other areas devoted to Covid-19 response within our organization.
