Swimming at the Y helps people thrive.

Swim lessons provide kids and teens with the opportunity to set goals and achieve success, learn water safety and enjoy swimming as a form of exercise. Through swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming and more, the Duluth YMCA provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

The Y has taught the joy of swimming to thousands of youth and adults across Minnesota. Elements taught include personal safety, skill development, personal growth, water sports, and rescue.  We offer programs year-round for all ages and levels with small student-to-instructor ratios.

The aquatic department strives to be a program that builds relationships with its participants and the community.  Our goal is to assist our entire community build a healty spirit, mind, and body. We strive to provide meaningful programming, whether that is helping an adult overcome their fear of water or to help a child discover their love of swimming. Above all, we work to deliver the YMCA Mission in all that we do and we endeavor to be role models of the four core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility
