Kids Club is here for you at both the St. Luke's Kids Club at the Downtown Y and the YMCA at the Essentia Wellness Center for Y Members during their use of the facilities!

We have expanded our hours of operation, clarified the ages we are currently able to serve, and have updated our potty-training procedures to better serve the needs of your family while following guidelines set forth by the Minnesota Department of Health Child Care.

  • Beginning Monday, November 2nd, Kids Club hours of operation will expand to the following:
    • Monday - Thursday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., and 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
    • Friday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

  • We are currently able to serve children who are at least 33 months old up to 9 years of age.
    • All children entering Kids Club must be able to independently wear a mask for the duration of their stay.
    • Your child does not need to be fully potty-trained but must enter Kids Club with a fresh diaper or pull-up to utilize the service.
    • Kids Club staff are currently not allowed diaper or change your child due to close contact restrictions outlined by the MN Department of Health Child Care guidelines.
    • If your child is not yet fully putty-trained, please arrive to Kids Club with additional diapers, pull-ups, changing materials, and clothing needed in the event your child needs to be changed during their stay in Kids Club.
    • If needing to be changed, a Kids Club Lead Staff will contact you via text message or phone call to alert you to return to Kids Club, temporarily remove your child to find a restroom equip with a changing table, and return your child back to Kids Club for the remainder of your reservation time.

  • Kids Club is available for your family by reservation through our Alaris child watch software through our Kids Club web page.
    • Reservations are able to be made up to 72 hours in advance. Reservations will close at 6 pm on the day prior to the reservation. (For example, Tuesday reservations cannot be made after 6 pm on Monday.)
    • To reserve your child's space, please see the 'schedules' drop-down menu on the general YMCA website and determine the site you wish to book a reservation.
    • To book your reservation, you will enter your family membership information, select the date and time of the reservation block to be made, and submit.
    • After booking your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with your reservation number and an option to 'modify or cancel' your reservation. Please see our Parent Handbook for details regarding modifying or cancelling your child's reservation.

While your children are in our care they will:

  • Spend time with crafts and educational activities focused around the Y's core values of respect, honesty, caring, and responsibility.
  • Engage in free playtime and movement time.
  • Enjoy time in a safe, clean, and positive environment that fosters a sense of responsibility and respect to both themselves and others.

A few important reminders for your child's stay:

  • All children entering Kids Club must be able to independently wear a mask for the duration of their stay.
  • Snacks, water bottles, and items from home are not allowed in the Kids Club space at this time.
  • Water will be served in single-use paper cups by Kids Club staff wearing gloves.
  • Kids Club will be temporarily closed from 11:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. to allow staff time to clean the space and rotate toys, supplies, and equipment before the next reservation block.

We are so excited to have you back in Kids Club!
