QUILTING BY THE LAKE

October 28-Nov 1 2020

Time to get away and relax with fellow quilters in a beautiful woodland setting. This year, the retreat will be a bit different due to COVID. There will be a limit of 16 quilters so we can be socially distant and mask wearing. Attendees will take turns preparing easy meals of their choice. Two fast and fun projects will be featured: a Wonky Tree Table Runner and Carpenter Star quilt using large triangles. A supply list will be sent once you register. To register, click "register for programs" in the top right corner of this page. Search for the word "quilt".

A day camp rate is available for those wishing to commute rather than stay overnight; contact emarshall@cookcountyymca.org if you want to come for the day or for fewer nights. The rate is $40/night.

Contact Sandy Carlson if you have questions (skcarlson@charter.net).

Carpenter’s Star one block quilt. 83 x 83. Another great stash buster using large half square triangles. Layer cakes can be used if you have one laying around. Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilts has a YouTube video you could check out on this project. Some additional hints and tricks will be demonstrated at camp.

This tree table runner project is fun, no two will look the same. Grab some fabrics from your stash. A border can be added. Approximate size is 38” x 18” without a border.
