The GND Community Center and Recreation Area is dedicated to providing a place to be used by members of the community for social, cultural, learning, and recreational purposes. It is a drop-in center where youth can learn, play, and grow together.


School Year Program



Program is open to children in Kindergarten through 12th grade.


Program will be held Monday through Friday from 2:15pm to 5:30pm, and on non-school days from 12pm to 4pm.



Program is held at the GND Rec Center, 801 101st Avenue W., Duluth, MN 55805.


Program is free of charge.

Typical Day

The GND Rec Center focuses on outdoor education and activities; youth will spend time outside each day. A typical day will also include snack, braintime, Crazy 8 math activities, science based activities, Run Club, and arts and crafts.

This program also has partnerships with Duluth Parks and Rec, 4H, CATCH, UMD Partners in Education, UMD Outdoor Education, and Hartley Nature Center; these groups provide outdoor education and activities for youth.

Summer Program

Summer program will be held Monday through Friday from 12pm to 5pm.
